Starting at Praia Vermelha, where you can see the difference in the color of the sand compared to other beaches in Rio. Following the Pista Claudio Coutinho, visitors receive references to the flora and fauna, as well as a lesson on the geology of both the sugar loaf and the rocks along the track, with brief explanations of how these rocks formed and why they have the observed forms. Museum of Earth Sciences + Claudio Coutinho Trail

The track begins in the incredible Museum of Earth Sciences, also known as the Palace of Geology, which has several types of rock and information about the geology of Rio de Janeiro, and has one of the richest geology and paleontology collections in Latin America. Then the audience is guided to Pista Claudio Coutinho, to see in practice how geology is more present in our day to day than we imagine.

Travessia Petrópolis-Teresópolis
